by Foreign/National

Though they defy simple classification, Foreign/National remain decidedly transfixed with the past: a thread which continues throughout their debut EP. While lyrically stark, the EP's instrumentation is built from warmer touchstones, elevating its sense of realism to something more dreamlike.

Here, there are echoes of countrymen Tame Impala as well as moments that feel closer to Vincent Gallo. This is pop at its best, straining brilliantly as it reaches backward to make sense of things.
